Nyenrode Box Committee

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can’t hit what the eyes can’t see. With the same passion that the great Muhamad Ali danced in the ring, the crew of the boxing committee provides the cohort with intense, challenging, and most of all fun boxing classes week after week. During our training sessions, you can punch out all study and campus life related stress, improve your stamina and learn how to box. Boxing teaches you about perseverance, conquering fear and pushing beyond limits. These are aspects that a future business leader can make excellent use of. With the Nyenrode Boxing Committee, this sport is given the position on campus it deserves.

In addition to these weekly training sessions, the boxing committee has the responsibility of organising a true boxing gala where Nyenrodians are granted the opportunity to step in the ring with each other and compete in a three-round boxing match with their fellow N.C.V. members as audience. This year’s boxing gala was organised in collaboration with the Dies

Natalis committee. In an amply decorated sports hall Nyenrodians were cheering for their fighters, enjoying wine, beer and lots of champagne at this memorable occasion. The ten brave (wo)men who dared to step in the ring stole the show and with it, the hearts of all attendants. In cooperation with the Dies Natalis committee, the boxing committee is responsible for all boxing related aspects of the gala.

This includes activities such as, negotiating with the boxing council, match making between potential boxers, training the fighters and so on. Of course, you don’t have to be a cage fighter to enjoy training and it certainly isn’t mandatory to participate in the fights. At boxing, everyone is welcome and payed attention to. We hope to see you at the next training!
