Nyenrode United Committee

The Nyenrode United Committee aims to create intercultural connections that last a lifetime by actively tackling integration at the campus. NUC is a committee for international students. NUC is responsible for the Buddy Program, ensuring international students have Buddy to rely on the first weeks to get used to the cultural change by studying in the Netherlands. Furthermore, NUC is responsible for casual drinks, lunches, picnics at campus with a mixed group of international and national students. For example, Chinese New Year, Indian Holi Fest, South African Braai, Dutch Nights, and Dia De Los Muertos.

The global COVID-19 challenged NUC to create a joyful multicultural environment differntly, by doing online events and food deliveries. NUC is all about sharing knowledge and sharing experiences. Therefore, the committee works together with other actors, Friends of NUC, Program management, the campus dean to improve the integration issues and cultural barriers at the campus. And being part of NUC is an experience itself. It is an educating

journey while working together with an ethnically diverse committee. We are overcoming our cultural barriers to organize events while being a beacon of trust to other international students. Morover, integration is a two-way relationship. Therefore, we have to make sure Dutch students are included in NUC events and also show some Dutch heritage to international students!
